From Nicole, the Editor of Food for Films Blog:

The following post includes the terms of service for using this blog. These terms may be updated occasionally. The latest version can be accessed by following the "terms of service" link at the bottom of any page or the link in the user manual located in the top navigation section.

It takes time and caring to put together a comprehensive resource of low-cost catering tips for independent filmmakers to use. If you are a filmmaker, you are welcome to use any of the tips or suggestions published on this blog, under the following conditions:

1. You have produced at least one film or video. This can include commercials, film school assignments or online videos that feature multiple cast members. Your production does not have to be feature length. Short film productions qualify; if you have not yet produced a video, you have at least completed or acquired a screenplay with plans to turn it into a motion picture.

2. All content (including photos) on this blog is copyrighted by Nicole, the Author/Editor unless noted otherwise. You may NOT sell or license any of the content from this blog in whole or in part to a third party.

3. You may NOT use any of the content from the Food for Films blog to build your own library of related content OR publish a separate library of related content for public use.

4. You may NOT translate this blog in full to another language.

5. Abide by all of the rules listed here in the terms of service or I will have no other choice except to come after you with the proper authorities. I respect your property, so have respect for mine.

A Special Note for Bloggers, filmmakers and Website owners who write blog posts on their website:

If at any time you would like to mention this blog or a particular post on this blog on your website or blog, you are welcome to do so. Quotes, summaries and brief clippings from content published on Food for Films can be used, granted that you cite the source where the quote or clipping was found (which would be Food for Films). If you have concerns about violating the Terms of Service, feel free to contact me (using the contact link located in the navigation section) to discuss it.

These "Terms of Service" may discourage other bloggers from writing about your blog. Since often quotes are taken from posts when bloggers blog about those posts; that probably violates some Term of Service of yours.

Otherwise this blog seems like a cool idea.

    Sujewa,

Bloggers and website owners are welcome to write about this blog, including using quotes or referencing a particular post on here.

Writing about a blog is one thing. Reusing the content entirely is another (and is illegal).

No where in my Terms of Service does it say bloggers cannot write about this blog or reference posts of interest that are published on this blog.

The Terms of service merely states that bloggers or website owners cannot just re-publish Everything (that means, an entire post, or this entire blog) without my permission OR reuse and sell or license my content for financial gain.

I apologize if this was not clear initially.

Feel free to write about this blog or reference it if you read something that is of interest to you that may also be of interest to your readers.

If you have any more concerns, you are welcome to contact me.

    Hey Nicole,

Sounds good. Item 3 was what I thought maybe a problem for bloggers: "3. You may NOT use any of the content from the Food for Films blog to build your own library of related content OR publish a separate library of related content for public use."
There are a lot of grey areas re: exactly how much, if any, of someone else's document can be used in creating an original blog post. Although, I think generally everyone has, so far, in the blog world, figure out how not to mess too much with other people's content (though there are no universally accepted guidelines).
Perhaps your reasons for posting the Terms of Service can be explained fully in a separate post; so that people can figure out exactly what kind of things you are worried about/are trying to avoid (that's if you really wanted to get into this topic, otherwise I think things are OK - maybe adding a note re: quoting posts for journalistic/blogging purposes being OK w/ you to the Terms of Service may help in encouraging other bloggers to write about your blog).

Also, several funny scenes in Living In Oblivion re: catering - in I believe segment 1 of the movie, re: the milk.

    Sujewa,

Thanks visiting again. Although I think that the Terms of Service for this blog is pretty simple:

Meaning Bloggers cannot replublish this blog in it's entirety and also meaning that bloggers and website owners cannot just replublish an entire post without permission from the author, which would be me,

I will add a note for bloggers if you think that would help those who do not clearly understand the terms that are set forth here.

    Thanks again for visiting.
